Within eight minutes walk of central campus, and close to the lively restaurants and shops of Campustown, our properties are THE place to live in Ames. Whether you choose our deluxe new apartment building, the Stritz, or one of our nearby charming vintage front-porch houses, you couldn’t be more conveniently situated to Iowa State. Our apartments are closer to campus than some of the dorms.
Our properties are on the pretty, tree-lined streets of Campustown, and all have front lawns with mature landscaping. From any of our locations you can walk to class, the library, sporting and cultural events at Iowa State’s Coliseum, football games at Jack Trice Stadium, or restaurants and other gathering spots. Should you prefer to hop a CyRide bus, catch one just steps from your front door. You won’t need a car, but if you have one, onsite parking is available at The Stritz and all our houses, thoughtfully tucked behind the buildings.
The location of any Stritzel apartment means you’ll have a relaxing and attractive home, near the heart of the action.
Living near campus is like living near a park. Iowa State’s campus includes 490 acres of trees, lawns, lake, streams, and sculptured fountains. It’s listed among the top 25 most beautiful college campuses in the country, and recognized as outstanding by the American Society of Landscape Architecture. The university, founded in 1858, features several buildings on the National Register of Historic Places. At the core of it is the graceful campanile and 20 acres of rolling, open lawn known as central campus, the brainchild of ISU’s first president, Adonijah Welch.
Speaking of Adonijah, The Stritz is on Welch Avenue, named for the university president who looked to the future.
